I hope everyone has weathered the storms we have been having the past few weeks.  Myself, I'm getting a little tired of snow, we need some rain and fog to get rid of it.   COME ON SPRING!!!!!

Debbie and Debbie

PHOTO MEMORY

This picture was given to me at our family reunion in 1994 by Aubrey Myers.  This is myself and Debbie Myers taken in 1959 at Disire's wharf.  Issac's house (now Willie and Susan)  is in the background on the left and Jack Burke's house (now Ignatius and Winnie)  is in the background on the right.  This is the spot where the whole population of French Cove used to swim in the summer.  Debbie Myers was the daughter of Aubrey and Marge Myers, from Sydney, and granddaughter of Sam and Mary Myers (Bobby and Doreen's old house).  Debbie Myers-Nicholson passed away on December 4, 2003, at the age of 52,  almost one year after her father passed away in December 2002.

New Book-Book Review-Catherine Cookson

NOTE:  I did not write this review, I found it on the internet.

An Appropriate Good-bye

It seems appropriate somehow that Catherine Cookson's final novel should be so typical of her work and so celebratory of the area she wrote so much about. Cookson fans will read it as a fitting good-bye.

The Desert Crop is the final work of this author of over 90 novels. Though that equals almost one for each of Cookson's years on the planet, her first novel wasn't published until she was 44. That book -- Kate Hannigan -- was originally published in 1950. Born June 27, 1906, she received the OBE in 1985 and was created a Dame of the British Empire in 1993. Dame Catherine died on June 11, 1998 at home near Newcastle in England.

2nd Day of Snow

PHOTO MEMORY

Uncle Mackie, Aunt Freda, Gwen & Eldred MacKenzie, Uncle Isaac, Aunt Ogie & Uncle Jimmy.
(Gwen is Averill MacNeil's sister). I have no idea when the picture was taken.

NOTE - 2019:  Averill and Priscilla have sent me information about this photo.  I was taken at Uncle Jimmie and Aunt Ogie's 25 anniversary in 1979.  Thank you very much ladies.

.Day #2 of snow.  I think there is more down today than yesterday.  Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny, so I'm looking forward to that.

Digital Scrapbook Page

This is my digital version of Byron and Karen's Birthday page.

Did everyone enjoy the snow today?  Not nice for travel.  I did something productive today during the storm.  I spent the day "trying" to teach myself how to use Photoshop Elements 9.  I did learn some tricks but it took most of the day for me to do this birthday layout.  If I was using paper and photos, I probably could have made two or more pages today but then I wouldn't have learned how to use this very frustrating program, LOL!!!

Have a nice evening.

I don't know when this photo was taken, I would guess in the early 1980s.  Aunt Ida died in 1990.

Hi Everyone

PHOTO MEMORY

Ida, Connie, Sarah and RK

Just popped in to say hello on this beautiful February afternoon.  I am posting a picture of my first 12x12 scrapbook page for 2013, Byron and Karen's 50th birthday party.  I should have taken it out of the plastic sleeve, there is a little glare on the photo.
